O Congresso Internacional de Ensino da Matemática na Universidade Luterana do Brasil: um pouco da sua história / The International Congress on Mathematics Education in the Lutheran University of Brazil: a Glimpse of its History

Resumo

Um congresso é uma reunião ou assembleia solene de pessoas competentes que se reúnempara discutir alguma matéria. Com esse foco, os professores, pesquisadores e acadêmicosenvolvidos com a área de Educação Matemática se reúnem, periodicamente, na UniversidadeLuterana do Brasil (ULBRA), em Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, para tratar de questões relativas aoensino e à aprendizagem da Matemática. Ao longo do período de 2001 até hoje, estes momentossignificativos e motivacionais ocorreram cinco vezes. Os congressos ocorridos e promovidos pelocurso de Matemática (Licenciatura) e o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino de Ciências eMatemática (PPGECIM) marcaram positivamente a comunidade envolvida. Nesses momentosos participantes tiveram a oportunidade de ouvir e se relacionar com proeminentes pesquisadoresnacionais e internacionais. Estes contatos e o envolvimento mais próximo com pesquisadores deponta são importantes, pois motivam e alavancam reflexões que alimentam mudanças significativasno meio em que o professor atua. O presente trabalho retoma alguns aspectos que aconteceram eenvolveram os cinco eventos referidos e conclui com uma pesquisa realizada com os conferencistasconvidados sobre aspectos dos eventos.

A congress is meeting or a solemn reunion of competent people who gather to discuss asubject. With such focus, teachers, researchers and academics involved in the field of mathematicseducation gather periodically at the Lutheran University of Brazil-ULBRA in Canoas, Rio Grandedo Sul, to address issues related to the teaching and learning of mathematics. Over the periodranging from 2001 until today, these motivational and meaningful moments occurred five times.The congress hosted and promoted by the Undergraduate Course in Mathematics teaching and theGraduate Program in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PPGECIM) scored positively on the communities involved. In such moments the participants had the opportunity to listen and relate toprominent national and international researchers. These contacts and involvement with the nearestleading researchers, are important, as they motivate and leverage ideas that fuel significant changesin the environment where the teacher works. This paper revisits some aspects that happened andinvolved the five aforementioned events and concludes with a survey conducted with invitedspeakers on aspects of the events.
